Terrace & Veranda

The Terrace & Veranda (sold together and referred to as one space) are each 2,500 square feet separated by a line of French doors. In total, the ballroom is 5,000 square feet of space and can accommodate 300 guests for a seated dinner. The Veranda features floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Gulf. Many years ago, the Terrace was once a popular nightclub, and the Veranda was open-air.

East & West Parlor

The East Parlor and West Parlor Rooms can accommodate 60 guests for a seated dinner. It is a great space with lots of natural light, perfect for luncheons and intimate receptions.

Music Hall

The Music Hall, which overlooks Centennial Green, is 5,000 square feet and features classic decor, architectural details, and patio access for views of the Gulf. The Music Hall is one of two significant event spaces at Grand Galvez. It has been freshened and renovated with a beautiful sky blue, royal blue and gold accented color palette. The original historic wooden Galvez lobby bar (from the Old Galveston Club which is considered Galveston’s last speakeasy) has been moved into this special event space and is a featured addition.

Centennial Green

Centennial Green is a dramatic outdoor space with a charming pergola and expansive views of the Gulf. It is more than 9,000 square feet of space and can accommodate 300 guests.

Oleander Garden is an outdoor space with trickling water, greenery, and an intimate setting. It is more than 2,700 square feet of space and can accommodate 250 guests.

Wedding Faqs

Do I need to make an appointment to meet and view the ballrooms?

Yes, please make an appointment to ensure the ballrooms are available to view and your catering manager sets aside dedicated time to meet with you.

Do you offer packages

Each couple is unique, and therefore we create a “package” specifically to fulfill your dreams.

Do you have outdoor areas available for weddings?

Absolutely! We offer three gorgeous outdoor venues at our beachfront property.

Do you offer discounts if I book additional events with you, such as the rehearsal dinner or bridal shower

Yes, there are special perks and considerations when hosting multiple events.

Can we bring in our own food and beverage?

For the safety of you and your guests, all food served at Grand Galvez, excluding wedding cakes, must be prepared by our culinary staff.

Are there any exceptions on allowing us to use an outside caterer?

Yes, exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis. Your catering manager will be happy to discuss details with you.

Do you offer children's meals?

Definitely, we can offer both plated and buffet options.

Do you have a wedding coordinator on property?

Your catering manager specializes in all food and beverage details. For your benefit, the hotel requires that you arrange for a wedding coordinator/representative to assist with the additional details surrounding your ceremony and/or reception.

Do you have specific vendors we have to use?

We created a Preferred Vendor List to help you begin planning; however, you can choose to use a different vendor for most things.

Do you offer special guest room rates if I host my wedding at your properties?

We offer special overnight accommodations with a minimum of (10) rooms blocked, based upon availability. A two-night minimum applies on weekends.

Will you allow me to take my engagement portraits at the hotel?

We’re happy to allow you to enjoy our beautiful venues once you have secured your date in one of our ballrooms. This can be scheduled with your catering manager.

Amazing Wedding Day & Stay!

Where do I even start? The Galvez went above and beyond to accommodate my husband and me for our wedding. Especially with renovations going on throughout the hotel, they made sure we, our wedding party and all of our guests were comfortable and taken care of. The Grand Galvez team was amazing and answered every single one of my (anxiety-ridden) emails! The food was excellent!

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the Grand Galvez on Saturday night. Everything was perfect, from the planning process with the Wedding and Catering teams, to the venue, to the delicious food served. The hotel was under major renovation, but the hotel made it where it was not noticeable at all. We had the wedding outdoors at night in the Oleander Garden and the reception in the Terrace.

We wouldn’t have changed a thing about our wedding. We found the Galvez and didn’t look any farther. The price was perfect for our budget. We loved that all food, drinks, linens, tables, etc were all included. We had our ceremony in the Oleander Garden and our reception in the Terrace and Ballroom. The food, drinks and atmosphere were unparalleled. The guests especially loved the donut hole.
